The forest houses are three adjoining 17th century houses whose facing bricks tell the story of the Battle of the Zuiderzee as a comic book. In 1573, the West Frisians fought against Admiral Bossu's Spanish fleet. The West Frisians won with a fleet of small manoeuvrable boats and captured Bossu.
