The Burgerweeshuis is the cultural and pop stage of Deventer and is located in a characteristic monumental building. It used to be an orphanage for children of grandcitizens and half-citizens, but nowadays you can enjoy wonderful evenings. Pop concerts and dance evenings are organised. There are several rooms, such as a large hall, a mirror room, a brown café and a courtyard where music is played in all genres. Every Wednesday you can go for live music and every Thursday you can enjoy the dishes prepared by Maaike and Martine in De Weesjes Kantine. Everything is organic and comes from local suppliers. In short, you go to the Burgerweeshuis for an evening of enjoying great music and eating every Thursday!
