Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen was founded after lawyer Boijmans left his art collection to the city of Rotterdam in 1849. The name is extended after the Van Beuningen collection was acquired in 1958. Today, the museum has a unique collection of paintings, sculptures and utensils. The collection of drawings and prints is among the best in the world.
