The Stadhuis is located right in the centre of Leeuwarden. This beautiful building was built in 1715 and has had many changes over time.
The Stadhuis is located in the heart of Leeuwarden and was built in 1715, the first stone was laid by the three-year-old Willem Karel Hendrik Friso. The Stadhuis is built in a classicist style and consists of three layers. Above the door hang in gold letters the words Pace et Justitia, meaning Peace and Justice. In the course of time, the Stadhuis has undergone several renovations and has been restored in 2005.
