The beautiful Grote or Jacobijnerkerk church is located in the centre of Leeuwarden and was built between 1275 and 1310 in an impressive Gothic style.
The Grote or Jacobijnerkerk is the largest medieval church in Leeuwarden and was built between 1275 and 1310. Unfortunately, many altars and decorations were lost. Nowadays the church is still in use by the Protestant church and a beautiful landmark. During the summer period, the beautiful church is open to the public. Exhibitions, lectures and concerts are organised.
