The Vismarkt is centrally located and is a backdrop for various markets but also for the fair, outdoor performances and concerts.
One of the three large squares in Groningen. The name was first used in the fifteenth century and refers to the kind of market that was found there. Nowadays there is still an occasional fish market on the square.
