Since 1631 you can find the Westerkerk on the edge of the Jordaan. Walk in and see the imposing organ in this white, light church.
You will find the entrance to the Westerkerk at number 279 at the Prinsengracht. On the square in front of the house (number 281) you will find a statue of Anne Frank. The Anne Frank House is not much further (number 263). A visit to this museum can therefore be combined with a visit to the Westerkerk. The Westerkerk is characterized by the large windows and the gray-white painted, natural stone ornaments. The city coat of arms of Amsterdam can also be found in many places. This is because the church was built on behalf of the then Amsterdam city council. On the Westmarkt side of the church you can also find the Mayor's Gate. This entrance used to lead the civilian father to his own bank in the church.
