Stadsmuur Plantsoen-Oost
A perfect park for walking or relaxing. As the name suggests, you can discover remnants of the old city wall of Amersfoort.
In the Plantsoen-East you can see the remains of the second city wall of the city. The wall was built around 1388 in the northeast of Amersfoort. This is because the most threat was expected from Gelre. Until 1831, the wall remained standing. A large part of the stones was then reused and some parts of the wall became part of buildings. After the demolition of these buildings, the wall came back to light in 1974.
