Find peace and quiet in one of the most beautiful and oldest courtyards in Leiden. This is also the only Leiden court that still has its own chapel.
The city centre of Leiden is full of hidden courtyards. The Sint Annahofje, also known as the Saint Anna Almoeshuis, is one of them. The court belongs to the Top 100 of the National Heritage Service and is well worth a visit. The court was founded in 1492 and named after Saint Anna. Step through the entrance gate and discover the beautiful garden and a late medieval chapel with some of the oldest stained glass in the Netherlands.
